Oxford’s afropean choral group was originally the brainchild of singer, composer and arranger Anita Daulne (ex Zap Mama) and forms a bridge between the western and African world, the urban and the ethnic, offering a different approach to song, a compelling mix of polyphony and rhythm.
The choir formed in 2007 and first started performing in 2008. There are currently 11 members, all of whom play a vital part in the unique sound of the choir and in running the rehearsals . We sing in a contemporary style based on traditional and new songs arranged by Anita Daulne and other singers.
In 2010 and 2011 the choir was generously supported by Oxfordshire Community Foundation Grassroots Grants scheme
